Texans Designate Rookie OLB Brennan Scarlett As Player To Return From I.R.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have officially designated rookie OLB Brennan Scarlett as their player to return from injured reserve.

This opens a three-week window for the Texans to officially activate him from their injured reserve list.

Scarlett, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in May. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury back in October.

In 2016, Scarlett has appeared in five games for the Texans and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
