Texans Interested In Re-Signing S Kendrick Lewis

John McClain reports that the Texans are still interested in re-signing free agent S Kendrick Lewis, even after they agreed to terms with S Rahim Moore earlier in the day.

  • McClain mentions that Houston like to use three safeties a lot, which is why they would consider bringing him back next year.

Lewis, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with Kansas City before signing a one-year deal with the Texans last year worth the minimum.

In 2014, Lewis appeared in Lewis appeared in all 16 games and recorded 84 tackles, two interceptions (one for a touchdown), three forced fumbles, a recover, six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 39 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
