Texans Lockup QB Matt Schaub With A Four-Year Extension

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Houston Texans have reached an agreement with QB Matt Schaub on a four-year deal worth $62 million and includes $25 million guarantees.

The Texans have been trying to get deals together for Schaub and DE Connor Barwin, so this isn’t exactly all that surprising. Locking Schaub up now allows them to focus on the current season with minimal distractions in terms of players contracts. This sets the table for Joe Flacco and the Ravens for a deal that could be coming in the near future.

We had Schaub listed as the No. 16 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
