Texans Lose Matt Schaub For The Season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up Kubiak’s comments by reporting that Schaub’s injury will cost him the rest of the 2011 season.

Schaub suffered the injury during the fourth-quarter of Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers which seems inconsequential in hindsight. Nonetheless, Houston will have to get Matt Leinart ready to step in and lead them the rest of the way and hopefully to the first playoff bid in team history.

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak mentioned that QB Matt Schaub will “miss some time” because of a foot injury that he suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Following Sunday’s game Schaub was seen wearing a walking boot.

This obviously opens the door for backup QB Matt Leinart who will replace Schaub until he’s able to return to game action. Thankfully for Houston, they have their bye this week which will cut into the amount of games that Schaub would have missed. Kubiak’s comments are still concerning because of the fact that he is prepared to not have Schaub for a number of weeks. Houston is in the drivers seat in the AFC South but there’s still work to be done before they can rest assured.
