Texans Officially Place RB Arian Foster On Season-Ending I.R. & Promote DB Kurtis Drummond

The Houston Texans officially placed RB Arian Foster on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, according to the NFL Transactions release.

  • The Texans also promoted DB Kurtis Drummond from their practice squad.

This should come as no surprise, as Foster sustained an Achilles tear that was expected to cost him the remainder of the year.

Foster, 28, has another two years remaining on his five-year, $43.5 million contract that included $20.75 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.5 million over the final two years of the agreement.

Foster’s 2015 season comes to an end with him rushing or 163 yards on 63 carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with 22 receptions for 227 yards receiving and and three touchdowns.
