Texans QB Brian Hoyer Suffered Another Concussion, Team Preparing T.J. Yates To Start

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Texans QB Brian Hoyer did, in fact, suffer another concussion during Sunday night’s game against the Patriots.

Hoyer is now entering the league’s concussion protocol.

According to Rapoport, the Texans are preparing as though T.J. Yates will be their starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Colts.

Brian T. Smith mentioned earlier in the day that this would be Hoyer’s fifth concussion, and second in the past month.

Hoyer, 30, signed a two-year, $10.5 million contract that included $4.75 million guaranteed with the Texans back in March. He’ll make a base salary of $1.5 million this season and another $5.25 million in 2016.

This year, Hoyer has thrown for 2,357 yards while completing 60.5 percent of his passes to go along with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.
