Texans & Rams Reportedly Hoping To Trade Back

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “the thinking in some league circles” is that the Texans and Rams are both hoping to trade out of their current spots on Thursday.

Florio mentions that the Texans are hoping to move back and select Buffalo LB Khalil Mack while the Rams would actually like to trade down for Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews.

It’s been quite apparent for some time now that the Texans would prefer to acquire some draft picks for the No. 1 overall selection, so this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Mack has been linked to the Texans for a few days now and it appears as though he is actually their preference.

However, it’s interesting to hear that the Rams could prefer Matthews given that many have assumed for months now that Auburn OT Greg Robinson was their guy.

For what it’s worth, we actually have the Rams taking Matthews in the first-round out of recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
