Texans RB D’Onta Foreman Tests Negative For Marijuana

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Texans rookie RB D’Onta Foreman voluntarily took a drug test for marijuana after his recent arrest and the results came back negative.

“The lab has returned D’Onta’s results,” Foreman’s attorney, Chip Lewis said. “He is crystal clean, everything negative for any illicit drugs, marijuana, absolutely nothing.”

“It illustrates what D’Onta has said since his arrest that he was not smoking marijuana. He did not possess marijuana,” Lewis said. “It makes it clear that he was telling the truth. He was not using marijuana.”

A statement has been released on behalf of Texans rookie RB D’Onta Foreman denying that he possessed marijuana and the handgun he had was legally registered with the state.

Brian Davis of the Austin American-Stateman reports that Texans rookie RB D’Onta Foreman was taking into custody about 3 a.m. Sunday morning and has been charged with marijuana possession of two ounces or less and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

According to the University of Texas police department, Foreman arrested after they responded to a call at 12:24 a.m. Sunday that said the smell of marijuana was coming from three occupied vehicles on campus. 

Officers arrived on the scene discovered marijuana in each vehicle and also discovered a firearm in one of them.

The owner of the firearm, D’Onta Foreman, was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of Weapons and Possession of Marijuana and booked into Travis County Jail. Six other male suspects were cited and released for Possession of Marijuana.

“None of them are UT students and they are not believed to have UT affiliations.

Foreman, 21, was selected with the No. 89 overall pick by the Texans. According to OverTheCap.com, Foreman receives a four-year contract worth $3,159,484, which includes a signing bonus of $759,484.

During his three-year college career at Texas, Foreman recorded 431 rushing attempts for 2,774 yards (6.4 YPC) for 20 touchdowns while also having 13 receptions for 146 yards receiving (11.2 YPC).
