Texans Re-Sign LB Akeem Dent To A Two-Year, $4.5M Deal

The Houston Texans have re-signed LB Akeem Dent to a two-year contract, according to his agency Enter-Sports.

  • John McClain reports that Dent receives a two-year contract worth $4.5 million and includes $2 million guaranteed from the Texans.

Dent’s agent, Hadley Engelhard, previously told Mark Berman of MyFoxHouston.com that he had interest from two other teams, but they were still in contact with the Texans regarding a return.

Dent, 27, is a former third round pick  of the Falcons back in 2011. Atlanta traded him to the Texans in return for QB T.J. Yates in June of last year.

In 2014, Dent appeared in 15 games and recorded 38 tackles and a sack for the Texans. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 227 snaps last year, but he does have a solid rating as a pass-rusher.
