Texans Reach An Agreement With Brian Cushing On A Six-Year Extension

John McClain reports that the Houston Texans have reached an agreement on a six-year extension with ILB Brian Cushing.

  • Cushing receives $55.643 million in total over six-years, which includes $21 million guaranteed. (Albert Breer)
  • Cushing will now be under team control through the 2019 season.
  • Texans don’t negotiate during the season, so this was really the last opportunity to get a deal done before the offseason. (Joel Corry)

Cushing, 26, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. He unfortunately suffered a season-ending ACL tear last year, but all signs have been positive in his return for knee surgery.

We had Cushing listed as the No. 14 player in our Top 50 – 2014 Free Agents list.
