Texans Relase OT Will Yeatman, Sign DT Chris Neild

The Houston Texans announced the release of OT Will Yeatman on Friday, as well as the signing of DT Chris Neild.

Yeatman, 27, originally signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out Maryland back in 2011. He would later be claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins and go on to spend three seasons with the team.

Yeatman still had one year remaining on his contract and would have made a base salary of $745,000 for the upcoming season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Yeatman will free up $745,000 in cap space while creating no dead money.

He last appeared in an NFL game during the 2013 season while playing for the Dolphins.

Neild, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Redskins back in 2011. He spent a few years with the team before he became an unrestricted free agent back in March.

In 2013, Neild appeared in eight games for the Redskins and recorded six tackles.
