Texans Release DB Marcus Burley

The Houston Texans officially released DB Marcus Burley on Tuesday.

Burley, 27, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware back in 2013. He was on and off the team’s practice squad before eventually joining the Eagles’ practice squad.

Burley later played for the Rams and Colts before Indianapolis traded him during the offseason to the Seahawks for a sixth-round pick.

Last year, the Seahawks bought Burley back on an exclusive rights contract only to waive him with an injury designation during the preseason. Burley was later claimed off of waivers by the Browns in September and brought back on a one-year, $1.797 million restricted deal this offseason before Cleveland cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

Houston added Burley to their active roster a few days later.

In 2017, Burley appeared in five games for the Texans and recorded one tackle and no interceptions or pass defenses.
