Texans Release RB Andre Brown

The Houston Texans released veteran RB Andre Brown, according to Pro Football Talk.

Recent reports indicated that Brown was the Texans’ fifth running back on their depth chart and was in danger of being released in the coming weeks.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported earlier in day that the Texans hosted three veteran running backs for workouts on Monday including: Ronnie BrownBrian Leonard and William Powell.

Browns signed with the San Diego Chargers for the last two seasons, and has reinvented himself as a third-down back, excelling at blocking and catching the ball out of the backfield.

He appeared in 16 games last year and ran for 157 yards and added another 60 yards receiving while scoring one touchdown.
