Texans Release S Rahim Moore

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have released S Rahim Moore on Thursday.

The Texans have been busy with roster moves today, as they’ve already released RB Arian Foster and TE Garrett Graham.

Moore, 26, signed a three-year, $12 million contract that included a $3 million signing bonus with the Texans back in March of last year. He stands to make base salaries of $2.85 million (2016) and $3.15 million (2017) over the remainder of the contract.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Moore will free up $2,068,750 in available cap space while creating $2 million in dead money.

In 2015, Moore appeared in seven games for the Texans and recorded 16 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses before he was later benched. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 56 safety out of 88 qualifying players.
