Texans Sign CB Jumal Rolle Off Packers’ Practice Squad, Cut Ronnie Brown

The Houston Texans signed CB Jumal Rolle off the Packers’ practice squad and released veteran RB Ronnie Brown, according to John McClain.

Rolle, 24, signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Catawba last year. He was claimed off of waivers by the Saints after he was unable to make Buffalo’s final roster in 2013, but he later signed on to the Packers’ practice squad.

Rolle actually put together a decent training camp and preseason performance for the Packers and there was talk he could be in the mix for a roster spot. However, he was released and later signed to their practice squad.

Brown, 32, was brought in back in early August as the Texans were trying to find some better options at running back. So far this season, Brown has appeared in two games, but has just four yards rushing on six carries and a reception for five yards.

Last year, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and ran for 157 yards and added another 60 yards receiving while scoring one touchdown.
