Texans Sign DE Keith Browner From Practice Squad, Place DE Tim Jamison On I.R.

The Houston Texans have signed DE Keith Browner from their practice squad on Friday and made room for him by placing DE Tim Jamison on season-ending injured reserve, according to Mark Berman.

Browner, 26, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2012. He has been on and off of the team’s practice squad in recent years, so this will be his first opportunity to be active for an NFL game.

Jamison, 28, is in the final year of his contract and will have made a base salary of $730,000 by the end of the year. He has appeared in 13 games this season and has recorded 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.

Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 420 snaps this season, but they also have him rated as the No. 46 defensive end in a 3-4 system out of 49 qualifying players.
