Texans Sign QB John Beck

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have signed former Washington Redskins QB John Beck.

Beck was released before the draft which makes sense in hindsight, considering the additions of Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins. Last year, Washington made the decision to move forward with a quarterback tandem that consisted of Beck and Rex Grossman. Beck wound up playing in only four games for the Redskins and finished with 858 yards passing to go with 2 touchdowns, 4 interceptions and 3 fumbles.

The Texans will likely keep T.J. Yates installed as their backup quarterback to Matt Schaub after he stepped in and preformed decent, considering the situation that he was thrust into.
