Texans Sign WR Isaac Whitney To PS, Release WR Malachi Dupre

The Houston Texans announced that they’ve signed WR Isaac Whitney to their practice squad on Tuesday and released WR Malachi Dupre from the unit.

The Texans’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OLB Davin Bellamy
  2. CB Andre Chachere
  3. C/G Kyle Fuller
  4. TE Matt Lengel
  5. G/T Chad Slade
  6. WR Jester Weah
  7. DB Breon Borders
  8. S Mike Tyson
  9. OT David Sharpe
  10. WR Isaac Whitney
Whitney, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in May of last year. waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Raiders’ practice squad before being called up in late November.
Unfortunately, Raiders once again made the decision to cut Whitney as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players last month.
During his college career at USC, Whitney caught 11 passes for 144 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of eight games.
