Texans Signing Jaguars CB Aaron Colvin Four-Year, $34M Deal

Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are signing Jaguars free-agent CB Aaron Colvin to a four-year contract.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that Colvin receives a four-year contract worth $34 million including $18 million in guarantees.

Colvin is one of the best slot cornerbacks in the NFL and was expected to have a solid market.

This move could take the Texans out of the running for Patriots CB Malcolm Butler.

Colvin, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,673,152 contract and was in position to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Colvin appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 45 tackles, no interceptions, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
