Texans Signing OLB John Simon Off Ravens’ Practice Squad

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Texans are signing OLB John Simon off of the Ravens practice squad on Tuesday.

Simon, 23, was taken in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Ravens. This move will reunite Simon with Mike Vrabel, who coached him at Ohio State.

The Ravens were actually paying Simon more than the practice squad minimum to remain in Baltimore, but the opportunity to be on an active roster certainly out weighs the slight salary increase he received from the Ravens.

Last year, Simon appeared in seven games and recorded four tackles for the Ravens.
