Texans Starting Tom Savage At QB In Week 17

Texans HC Bill O’Brien announced Monday that Tom Savage will remain the team’s starting quarterback for their Week 17 matchup with the Titans.

This probably isn’t all that surprising, considering that the Texans wrapped up the AFC South and a playoff spot this past weekend and Savage hasn’t done anything to warrant the team going back to Brock Osweiler.

Savage did struggle a bit in the first half of their recent game but looked better coming out of the break.

Savage, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.52 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

This year, Savage has appeared in two games and thrown for 436 yards while completing 41-of-65 pass attempts (63.1 percent) to go along with no touchdowns or interceptions.
