Texans Sticking With Case Keenum At QB For Remainder Of The Season

During the press conference to announce that HC Gary Kubiak has been fired, the Texans owner Bob McNair announced that Case Keenum will be their starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Case (Keenum) is going to be the quarterback and we’re going to give him a chance,” said McNair on Friday.

Following Thursday’s loss to the Jaguars, Kubiak praised Matt Schaub for being an “unbelievable pro” and added that he would consider starting Schaub at quarterback for the rest of the season.

Kubiak drew a lot of criticism for benching Keenum twice in the past few weeks, so it’s really not that surprising to hear the Texans commit to the younger Keenum being their quarterback for their final three games.

Houston is likely to target a quarterback with their first-round pick next May, which at this point in time appears to be the No. 1 overall selection.
