Talks Between Texans & Free Agent TE Garrett Graham Are “Slow”

Update:

Free agent TE Garrett Graham tells Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com that negotiations with the Texans are “slow” right now.

  • Ganguli believes the tight end market could pick up on Wednesday now that the initial rush of signings has come and gone.
  • Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com mentioned a few days ago that he was “hearing” that Graham could be a target for the Buccaneers, but that was before they signed Brandon Myers

Graham, 27, had 49 receptions for 545 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 13 games last year. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 56 tight end out of 64 qualifying players.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Houston Texans are currently working to re-sign free agent TE Garrett Graham before the start of free agency.

However, should Graham be available to field offers from prospective teams, Rapoport mentions that the Green Bay Packers would have interest in signing him.

Rapoport adds that the Packers have been fans of his since he came out of the University of Wisconsin.

It’s some what surprising to hear that the Packers have interest in a certain free agent, given that they have stayed away from the free agent market more than any team in the league.
