Texans Waive CB Richard Leonard From I.R. With Settlement

The Houston Texans announced Thursday that they’ve waived CB Richard Leonard from injured reserve with an injury settlement.

Leonard, 24, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Florida International. However, he suffered a torn torn hamstring during OTA practice back in June.

Houston waived Leonard with the injury designation to make room for supplemental DT Ra’Zahn Howard a few weeks ago before reverting to the team’s injured reserve list.

During his four-year college career, Leonard recorded 196 tackles, 6.5 sacks, seven interceptions, 21 pass defenses, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.
