Texans Waive RB Daryl Richardson From Practice Squad, Sign RB Akeem Hunt

The Houston Texans officially waived RB Daryl Richardson from their practice squad on Tuesday and replaced him with RB Akeem Hunt, according got the NFL transactions release.

Richardson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Rams back in 2012. He spent two years in St. Louis before he was waived and later claimed by the Jets in May of last year.

Unfortunately for Richardson, he was among the Jets’ early roster cuts before the start of the season. The Texans later signed him to a contract, but he’s been on and off of their practice squad since then.

Richardson hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he ran for 215 yards on 69 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 121 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
