Texans Waive TE Mike McFarland From I.R. With Settlement

The Houston Texans officially waived TE Mike McFarland from the injured reserve list on Thursday with a settlement, according to the NFL transactions release.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that McFarland receives a one-week injury settlement of $18,705.

Mohamed, 23, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida a few days after this year’s NFL draft. However, he was later waived with the injury designation a few weeks into the preseason.

After he cleared waivers, the Texans placed him on season-ending injured reserve with a calf injury.

During his four years at South Florida, McFarland caught 55 passes for 643 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
