Texans Waiving Veteran OLB Lamarr Houston

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Texans are waiving veteran OLBĀ Lamarr Houston on Tuesday.

According to Rapoport, Monday’s loss to the Ravens has convinced the Texans to start taking a longer look at their young players.

Houston,Ā 30, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, the Bears signed Houston to a five-year, $35 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed.

The Bears placed Houston on injured reserve during the preseason and recently released him with an injury settlement. The Texans signed him to a contract last month.

In 2017, Houston has appeared in five games and recorded seven tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and a recovery returned for a touchdown.
