Texans Will Start Case Keenum Against The Chiefs

The Houston Texans have announced that Case Keenum will be their starting quarterback for Week 7’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“He’s given me confidence through camp,” HC Gary Kubiak said regarding Keenum. “He continues to grow. We’re looking for a spark and he deserves an opportunity.

Keenum had been sharing snaps throughout the week with T.J. Yates while Matt Schaub is recovering from an ankle injury that forced him out of last weekend’s game.

“I didn’t hesitate because I felt like we needed a spark,” Kubiak said.

Keenum is from the University of Houston and has become somewhat of a fan favorite since joining the team. He’ll have a huge challenge against one of the best defenses in the league in the Chiefs.

Houston is obviously considering all of their options in case they decide to get out of Schaub’s contract this offseason, which will most likely be a popular topic in the coming weeks.
