Texans Signed DE Steven Means To Their Practice Squad

Update:

Aaron Wilson reports that the Texans have signed DE Steven Means to their practice squad.

—————–

According to Aaron Wilson, The Texans have worked out free agents DE Gerald Rivers and DE Steven Means on Tuesday.

Rivers, 25, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2013. Since then, Rivers has played for a number of teams including the Jaguars, Dolphins, Broncos and most recently for the Giants.

He’s recently worked out for the Eagles and Saints, but neither team offered him a contract.

Rivers hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he was playing for the Jaguars.

Means, 25,  was signed by the Ravens this past offseason to an exclusive-rights tender, but was among the teams final roster cuts in September. Since then, Means has had workouts with the Eagles and Chiefs, but was not offered a contract.

We will provide more information if the Texans offer either of these free agents a contract as the news is available.
