Texans Worked Out Punters Taylor Symmank & Brock Miller

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans brought in free agent P Taylor Symmank for a workout on Wednesday.

Free agent P Brock Miller announced via his Twitter account that he too worked out for the Texans.

The Jaguars hosted Symmank for a tryout in recent weeks but didn’t sign him to a contract following the session.

Symmank, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2016. Unfortunately, he sat out the 2016 season before signing a future/reserve contract with the Vikings in January of last year.

Minnesota waived him coming out of the preseason as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

Since becoming a free agent, Symmank has worked out for the Chiefs, Titans, and Bills.

During his college career at Texas Tech, Symmank totaled 4,325 punt yards on 99 attempts (43.7 average) over the course of 24 games.

Miller, 26, wound up going undrafted out of Southern Utah back in 2014. He took part in rookie minicamps with the Colts and Raiders and worked out for a number of teams this last year including the Rams, Buccaneers, Broncos, Packers, Browns, Bears 49ers, Lions and Jaguars.

The 49ers elected to sign Miller to a future/reserve contract back in January, but unfortunately, cut him loose shortly after last year’s draft.

During his college career at Southern Utah, Miller totaled 7,055 punt yards on 164 attempts (43.02 YPA). He also kicked field goals for Southern Utah during his freshman year and was 12 of 17 and made 27 of 28 extra-point tries
