Texans Working Out WR Cobi Hamilton

Jeremy Fowler reports that the Texans are bringing in free agent WR Cobi Hamilton for a workout at some point this week.

The Cardinals worked out Hamilton last week, but didn’t sign him to a contract following the session.

Hamilton, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back 2013. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the team coming out of the preseason during his rookie season but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Hamilton had brief stints with the Eagles, Bengals, Dolphins and Panthers before he was signed by the Steelers last year. before being cut and later added to their practice squad at the start of the regular season.

Pittsburgh cut him loose at the start of the regular season and later added to their practice squad at the start of the regular season. However, the Steelers promoted Hamilton to their active roster and later brought him back on a one-year contract this past January before cutting loose last weekend.

In 2016, Hamilton appeared in 11 games for the Steelers and recorded 17 receptions for 234 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also accumulated 83 yards as a kickoff return specialist. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 79 overall wide receiver out of 115 qualifying players.
