The Broncos A Serious Suitor For Jets CB Derrelle Revis?

Peter King of Sports Illustrated has a “feeling” that Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway could convince owner Pat Bowlen that DB Darrelle Revis is “the missing piece to a championship team.

King also mentions that the Kansas City Chiefs could be in play for the corner as well since the team has upwards of $17 million of cap space to work with right now. The San Francisco 49ers are another team to watch when “they dump Alex Smith before April 1.

There are reportedly a number suitors for Revis, but the problem is still related to the compensation that teams would have to send to the Jets and the amount of money that they would have to pay Revis annually. There’s no question that he’s talented, but it’s hard to commit to parting with a first and third round pick and then hand out a huge contract to a player that’s coming off of a serious knee injury.

Either way, there figures to be plenty of Revis news and speculation in the coming months.
