The Browns A Potential Landing Spot For Mike Wallace?

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports posted an article over the weekend that offers a number of notes regarding cap situations around the league.

The most interesting tidbit included in his article could be that “many in the Steelers organization” believe WR Mike Wallace could end up signing with the Browns this offseason.

The connection here is that new Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was a former minority owner of the Steelers and there’s no question that they could use a deep threat in their offense. Norv Turner is known for stretching the field and there’s no better available option than Wallace.

It’s worth noting that the Browns have close to $30 million in cap space to work, according to La Canfora’s projections.

It may require a deal similar to that of Vincent Jackson‘s (five years, $55.5 million) to sign Wallace. The Dolphins have also been mentioned as another landing spot for Wallace.

We have Wallace listed as the No. 6 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
