The NFL Gives Saints Permission To Negotiate Contract With Sean Payton

Nakia Hogan of the Times-Picayune reports the NFL has decided to allow the New Orleans to renegotiate a contract extension with suspended head coach Sean Payton.

This comes just days after it was reported that the league had voided Payton’s contract due to the fact that it was tied to GM Mickey Loomis being with the team. Loomis’ suspension has concluded, so it’s safe to suggest that his first order of business will be to address Payton’s contract and prevent him from inquiring about other jobs like the Cowboys.
