Panthers Showing Interest In Free Agent S Quintin Mikell

Panthers HC Ron Rivera told reporters that they do have “curiosity” in free agent S Quintin Mikell, per Joe Person.

Carolina reportedly had initial conversations with Mikell in recent weeks and could probably use some additional help at safety.

Mikell, 33, graded out as the No. 5 safety in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus but was released by the Rams in March due to age concerns.  Mosher mentions that a deal could get done soon but there has been little interest in him in the free agent market.

We have him listed as the No. 7 player in Best Available Free Agents list.

According to Geoff Mosher of Comcast Sports, free agent S Quintin Mikell is having initial conversations with the Panthers.

As of now the Panthers have S’s Mike Mitchell, D.J. Campbell, and undrafted free agent Robert Lester, so signing Mikell would be a huge upgrade for the Panthers secondary.  If the Panthers do sign Mikell it will likely be a one-year contract to prove that age will not be a factor going forward.
