With Ben Roethlisberger still waiting to hear how long his suspension will last, the Steelers have been preparing Byron Leftwich to cover for the games that they would be without their starting QB. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Leftwich torn his MCL last night and is now out indefinitely, per Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
There has already been a campaign for the team to start Dennis Dixon who should now get his shot for at least the first game of the season. Pittsburgh has Charlie Batch on the roster too but he has been hampered with an injury which will keep him out at least until the second week of the season.
I guess this means that we can the Steelers to list of teams looking for backup quarterback help.
