Michael Lombardi is reporting that the Houston Texans have “moved into the lead” for the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes. Lombardi mentions that the Texans are offering a deal in the range of $12-14 million a season.
Yesterday the New York Jets were making headlines because of their interest in Asomugha and they still cannot be ruled out. Agents tend to released information such as this in an attempt to drive up the offers from other clubs so there is still a shot that the Jets will get back into the mix for him.
The San Francisco 49ers are another team to watch but they’re more of a longshot.
