The Tyson Clabo Market

The Atlanta Falcons will some serious issues to deal with that concern their offensive line once a CBA is agreed upon. Starting right-tackle Tyson Clabo will be an unrestricted free agent and seems to be excited about hitting the open market finally.

I’m excited [about free agency],” Clabo said in an interview with D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It’s something that I felt that I’d earned last year and didn’t get. So the prospect of actually getting there is exciting. But, I don’t really know if I will get there because, hopefully, Atlanta will do what they need to do to keep me. Obviously, I want to be in Atlanta. But the thing about that, only time will tell.

Ledbetter mentions that the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos could be interested in signing him. The Seahawks have used their first-round pick in each of the last two seasons on offensive tackles which makes them seem like a longshot at best. Chicago needs help on their offensive line but they to just drafted an offensive tackle in this years draft so I would expect them to look for interior offensive line first. Maybe Clabo’s teammate Harvey Dahl could be on their radar.

Tackle is a premium position so there will no doubt be plenty of interest in Clabo but the Falcons may value him higher than some of the other teams that could use help at tackle.
