Three Or Four QB’s To Be Taken In The First Round?

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock believes that there will be three of four quarterback selected in the first round of this year’s draft.

It’s early in this entire process,” Mayock said, via NFL.com. “Everyone says there’s no Andrew Luck, there’s no Robert Griffin III. … I guarantee you by the time we get to April, there will be three to four quarterbacks taken in the first round, and most of them are coming out of this game.

At first glance, Mayock statement seems like a bit of a stretch given that that this year’s group of quarterbacks are considered to be lacking in terms of impact talent, but Mayocks point is more that there’s plenty of demand for quarterbacks and it’s not as though there isn’t talent to work with.

At this point in the draft process, West Virgina’s Geno Smith and USC’s Matt Barkley are considered to be the best quarterback prospects, but Mike Glennon (North Carolina State) has a decent shot to vault into the first round and possibly be the first quarterback off of the board.

Tyler Wilson (Arkansas), Zac Dysert (Miami of Ohio), and Ryan Nassib (Syracuse) are some of the other players to watch in the coming months.

Here’s our recently updated Big Board that includes the top 50 prospects.
