Three Teams Have Expresed Interest In Browns RFA RB Isaiah Crowell

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that at least three teams have inquired about Browns restricted free agent RB Isaiah Crowell.

Unfortunately, Fowler doesn’t mention any specifics regarding who these teams are, but there appears to be at some level of interest in him, despite the fact that the Browns used a second-round tender on him.

There are a number of notable running back options currently available and odds are that these players will likely have to sign one-year contracts in the end, so it would be surprising to see a team seriously entertain the prospect of parting with a second-round pick to sign Crowell away from the Browns.

The second-round tender will cost the Browns $2.81 million for the 2017 season and net them a second-round pick if he receives an offer sheet from another team and they elect to pass on matching it.

Crowell, 24, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama State back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract with the team is currently a restricted free agent.

In 2016, Crowell appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and rushed for 952 yards on 198 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 319 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 running back out of 62 qualifying players.
