Three Teams Have Reached Out To K Josh Scobee Already

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that three NFL teams have already reached out to former Steelers K Josh Scobee as of Sunday night.

However, Scobee will need a few weeks to heal from a quad strain that he’s currently dealing with, according to La Canfora.

Week 4 was a disaster for quality player from NFL kickers, which explains why a guy could already be generating interest just days after he had a poor outing of his own that led to his release.

This is just speculation on my part, but the Eagles, Buccaneers, and Jaguars all had major kicking issues today, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them bring in a few players for tryouts next week.

Scobee, 33, was traded to the Steelers in a deal that sent a 2016 sixth-round pick to the Jaguars. This came after Pittsburgh placed K Shaun Suisham on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

The Steelers ultimately elected to cut Scobee loose a few days ago and sign K Chris Boswell to a contract.

This season, Scobee has converted just 60 percent of his field goal attempts including 3 of 7 from 40 yards or more. He has also missed an extra point.
