Tim Hightower’s Knee Cost Him Roster Spot With Redskins

The Washington Post suggests that the reason why RB Tim Hightower was cut by the Redskins was due to his previously injured right knee.

Hightower, who was not among the 53 names in the Redskins roster, is coming of an ACL tear that he suffered 10 months ago. Since then, he has been restricted to individual drills during the first weeks of training camp, but he was finally able to debut as a backup in Washington’s third preseason game against the Colts.  A few days later, he was spotted limping after the injury flared up.

The team decided to cut the former Cardinal and will now rely on Evan Royster, Roy Helu and Alfred Morris to share the workload this season.
