The spotlight has been centered on the Broncos polarizing QB Tim Tebow since being anointed the teams starting quarterback but Sunday’s performance against the Detroit Lions has raised the level of scrutiny to even higher levels.

The Mike Klis Denver Post reports that “no change will be made for the Broncos’ next game” and Tebow will remain the starter for Week 9’s game against the Oakland Raiders.

Broncos head coach John Fox showed some support for Tebow on Monday by mentioned that he “definitely” saw some good things from Tebow this weekend.

We’ve got to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game,” said Fox.

Vic Lombardi tweets that Broncos coach John Fox wasn’t willing to commit to starting Tebow this weekend.

Benching Tebow after only two starts, despite the fact that both were pretty bad performances, wouldn’t help them move on at this point. The legions of Tebow supports would be pointing out that he wasn’t given a fair shot as he’s currently 1-1 as a starter this season. But as of now he’s not guaranteed to get another shot if he performs as bad as he did yesterday. Tebow should go into Week 9’s practice as though it’s his last shot at being an NFL quarterback because it very well could be.
