Titans Activate WR Tajae Sharpe From PUP List, Cut DL Mehdi Abdesmad

The Tenessee Titans announced Monday that they’ve activated WR Tajae Sharpe from the PUP list and placed DL Mehdi Abdesmad on waivers.

Sharpe previously said he was anxious to return to the practice field.

“I miss being out there with my teammates, just grinding through every day with them,” Sharpe said. “That is what hurts the most, having to watch them grind day in and day out. But I have no choice but to be patient.

“I am feeling good, getting better and better every day. I’m just trying to take it a day at a time and trying to be patient. I know when I get out there I am going to go 110 percent, but I have to make sure I am 110 percent healthy first so when I get out there I am going to be ready.”

Sharpe, 22, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.61 million rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years.

In 2016, Sharpe appeared in all 16 games for the Titans and caught 41 passes for 522 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 95 receiver out of 115 qualifying players.
