Titans Could Field Offers For S Michael Griffin & LB Wesley Woodyard

Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com confirms the report from Ian Rapoport that the Titans are in fact shopping veteran WR Nate Washington

  • Interestingly enough, McCormick adds that S Michael Griffin‘s name has come up as a potential trade option as well.
  • According to McCormick, there is talk that Tennessee is open to trading both players, but he’s not saying with any certainty that a move will be made before next Tuesday’s deadline.
  • Rapoport adds LB Wesley Woodyard to the list of Titans’ players that could be available.

Griffin, 29, is in the third year of his five-year, $35 million contract that includes $15 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $6.2 million for the entire 2014 season and another $6.3 million in 2015.

So far this season, Griffin has recorded 50 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and passes defended over the course of seven games. However, Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 75 safety out of 82 qualifying players this season.

Woodyard, 28, signed a four-year, $15.75 million contract that included $4.75 million guaranteed with the Titans back in March. He has base salaries of $2.75 million (2015), $3.5 million (2016), and $4.25 million (2017) coming his way over the remainder of the contract.

This year, Woodyard has recorded 43 tackles, one sack and two interceptions over the course of seven games. Pro Football Focus has Woodyard listed as the No. 24 inside linebacker in the league out of 63 qualifying players this season.

We’ll have more updates regarding a potential Titans’ trade as the news is available.
