Titans Cut CB Perrish Cox, Promote CB Kalan Reed

The Tennessee Titans announced Monday that they’ve placed CB Perrish Cox on waivers and promoted CB Kalan Reed to their active roster.

Cox, 29, is a former fifth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. He played briefly for the Broncos before signing on with the 49ers in 2012.

The Titans signed Cox to a three-year, $15 million contract back in March that included a $2.25 million signing bonus.

In 2016, Cox has appeared in 11 games and recorded 42 tackles, no sacks, three interceptions and 11 pass defenses for the Titans. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 118 cornerback out of 119 qualifying players.

Reed, 22, was taken in the seventh round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.39 million contract with the Titans but was waived coming out of the preseason.

The Titans signed him to their practice squad a few days later.

During his college career, Reed recorded 152 tackles, eight interceptions with three being returned for touchdowns, 30 pass defenses, three forced fumbles and three recoveries for Southern Miss.
