Titans Discussing An Extension With DT Antonio Johnson

Jim Wyatt reports that the Titans are still hoping to re-sign some of their unrestricted free agents including DT Antonio Johnson.

  • According to Wyatt, the teams remain in contract talks as we move closer to the start of free agency.

Johnson and his agent can begin to meet with prospective teams on Saturday, but it’s hard to say that he would have a competitive market in the coming weeks. With this in mind, his best option could be to re-sign with the Titans, assuming that they’ve made a competitive offer.

Johnson, 29, signed a one-year deal with the Titans last May after not finding much interest in free agency. He played in all 16 games and totaled 22 tackles and three sacks. He was also rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 40 defensive tackle in the league.
