Titans GM Ruston Webster told reporters on Thursday that he expects to get an extension worked out with DT Jurrell Casey, per Jonathan Hutton.
- Webster added that he remains in contact with Casey’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
Casey, 24, is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.732 million contract and will make a base salary of just $670,000 for the 2014 season.
He’s coming off of a season in which he was a second-team All-Pro selection. Last year, he totaled 54 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery for the Titans defense over the course of 15 games.
Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 4 defensive tackle in the league, mainly due to his ability to apply pressure up the middle.
We have Casey listed as the No. 10 player in our Top 25 – 2015 NFL Free Agents list.
