Jason Wolf of the Tennessean reports that the Titans are, in fact, hiring former Ravens DC Dean Pees to run their defense.
Reports have mentioned Pees as a candidate to watch for the Titans’ job the past few days, despite the fact that he recently made the decision to step away from the Ravens.
Baltimore replaced Pees with Don “Wink” Martindale as their new defensive coordinator.
It’s worth mentioning that Pees has a relationship with new Titans HC Mike Vrabel from their time together in New England.
Pees, 68, began his NFL coaching career with the Patriots back in 2004 as their linebackers coach. He worked his way up to defensive coordinator before joining the Ravens in 2010.
Baltimore promoted him to their defensive coordinator in 2012 and he remained in charge of their defense the past six seasons.
