Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans are hiring former Steelers DC Dick LeBeau as their assistant head coach/defense.
It appeared as though LeBeau could land in Arizona and join Bruce Arians’ staff, but it became clear in recent weeks that the Cardinals were not an option.
With the Cardinals no longer in the running, the Titans appeared to be the favorites to hire LeBeau in some capacity.
The Titans make sense for LeBeau based on the fact that he also has ties to their coaching staff and has worked with DC Ray Horton years ago. On top of that, Tennessee employs a 3-4 defense, so this will be as easy of a transition as any for the long-time defensive coordinator.
